When you need a washing machine repair carried out. As a homeowner, there are a few things that you can do to maintain the longevity of your appliances. However, no matter how well we take care of our possessions, there will always be times when things break down and need to be fixed. For me, it was my washing machine that decided to stop working properly.
What is the problem with the machine?
At first, I wasn’t sure what the problem was. My washing machine would start the cycle, but it wouldn’t complete it. Doing some research and finding out that there were a few common issues that people have with washing machines.
Check the Basics
Starting by checking the basics, such as making sure the machine was plugged in and that the outlet had power. Checking that the door was properly closed and latched. Next, I checked the water supply to make sure the hoses were connected and the valves were open, the drain filter was clear and there were no blockages in the drain outlet.
After ruling out these simple issues, I began to suspect that the problem was more serious. There was a loud noise coming from the machine during the cycle. Knowing this was not normal, it was time to investigate further. Opening up the drum and found a coin that was stuck in between the drum and the outer tub. I removed the coin, and the noise went away.
Then I also noticed that the machine was vibrating excessively. After that I made sure the machine was level and that the legs were adjusted properly. I also checked to see if anything else was stuck in the drum. Realising the machine was on a concrete floor, but the concrete wasn’t level and even. I adjusted the levelling legs and that solved the problem.
At this point, I thought the machine was working properly again, but I was wrong. The machine still wouldn’t spin or agitate. That is when I checked to see if the belt was loose or broken, but it was fine. I suspected that the motor was to blame.
When to call the experts
That is when I knew I needed professional help with this washing machine repair. So I called a repairman, and he confirmed my suspicions. The motor needed to be replaced. I was initially hesitant to spend the money on such a repair, but in the end, it was worth it. My washing machine is working like new again.
One more thing which I learned during the repair process is, If you have a warranty left you should contact the manufacturer’s customer care they will provide you with service accordingly. It will save you both time and money.
Overall, I learned that even the most reliable appliances can experience problems. However, by troubleshooting and addressing the issues, it is possible to prolong the life of your appliances. If you suspect that the problem is something more serious, such as a failing motor or a faulty control board, it’s best to call in a professional repair person. Remember, a well-maintained washing machine will save you money in the long run.
